D.A.R.E
D.A.R.E. is a program that is a community effort supported
through area businesses and residents.
D.A.R.E was started at Brookwood School in 1990,and was taught
by deputies from the Sheriff's Department. In the spring of
1995 I became a D.A.R.E. instructor and taught at Brookwood
during the school year 1995-1996. This made it more personal
with the kids being taught by someone they see in the community
and gives them someone they can trust and go to when they
have to. I am currently engaged in teaching kindergarten thru
4th grade program and the 1st and 3rd grade level
The program is run solely
on donations. Donations are used to purchase D.A.R.E. t-shirts, which are distributed
to all students that graduate the D.A.R.E. class. Further expenses will be graduation
certificates, awards for the top 3 essay winners in each class, refreshments at the
graduation and promotion supplies. Genoa City area businesses are given the opportunity
to donate funds or resources. In return you will receive recognition in a local newspaper
in addition to the self-gratification of sponsoring the D.A.R.E. Program.
The children need the encouragement from family, peers, friends,
teachers, law enforcement and businesses that this is a community
that supports a drug and violence free environment.
Anyone who contributes will receive a poster to display in
their window. This is a tax-deductible donation.
I will look forward to working with you and the community
in a joint effort to keep the D.A.R.E. Program working. If
you would like to make a donation or if you have any questions
or would like to further information about the D.A.R.E. Program,
please feel free to contact me through the Genoa City Police
Department (262) 279-6252. I will be happy to meet with you
or return your call anytime to explain the program further.
If you would like to make a donation, please make checks payable
to Brookwood School D.A.R.E. Program or mail to Genoa City
Police Department attention Sgt. Michael Sireno.
Thank you very much,
Sincerely,

Sgt. Michael Sireno |
